310S is a high-temperature chrome-nickel austenitic stainless steel with high creep strength and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 2000?F in dry air. 310S forms a tough oxide scale at high temperatures and is resistant to peeling, which is superior to 309 in thermal cycling applications.
310 has good vulcanization resistance and carburizing resistance in a moderate carburizing atmosphere. 310S is non-magnetic under annealing and cold working conditions and is as resistant to corrosion as 304/304L. 310S is a low-carbon version of 310 and is easy to manufacture due to its better formability and weldability.
