Seamless Steel Tube differs from welded steel tubes in that it does not have any welded joints and is a hollow cylindrical structure made from a single piece of steel. Selection of suitable raw material: High quality billets are selected as the raw material according to the application area and the expected properties of the final product (e.g. strength, corrosion resistance and flexibility).
Heating: The billet is heated to a very high temperature (usually around 1200°C), which facilitates the subsequent forming process.
Punching: The heated billet is very flexible and a piercing machine is used to punch holes in the billet to transform it into a hollow tube.
Rolling and stretching: The blank is rolled and stretched by means of a mandrel mill or an extension machine to achieve the required diameter and wall thickness.
Cooling and Straightening: The tubes are cooled to room temperature and then straightened top and bottom and side to side to ensure dimensional and straightness accuracy.
Cutting and Inspection: The tubes are cut to the required lengths and subjected to rigorous quality testing, including ultrasonic testing, to ensure that they meet industry standards.
