In August Phoebe received an enquiry from Mr. X in India. This was a relatively large project order and the majority of the pipes to be purchased were large diameter, up to 508mm O.D. As can be expected, this was a huge challenge for future deliveries.
When confirming the details of the product, X emphasised the requirements of the inner and outer surface of the pipe, Phoebe gave photos and videos of previous products and X was very forthcoming and also paid the deposit quickly as promised.
Due to the larger outer diameter and thinner wall thickness of the seamless pipes required by X, the production of some of the seamless pipes would be more difficult and Phoebe asked Iron in the warehouse to report regularly on the progress of the production, giving photos and video updates.
The challenge was coming, however, as the delivery date soon arrived. 60 seamless pipes, and more than 85% of them were large. This was a challenge for SMLSCO's shipping staff and to be honest, it was the first time we had ever shipped so many large pipes.
SMLSCO prepared a forklift truck on site and the whole team was on hand to load the goods. As it was a 5-7.5M indeterminate size pipe, it was possible to load the pipes in two rows into a 12M cabinet, effectively saving space and at the same time being able to deliver more pipes to the customer.
In the end, it took about 3 hours to deliver the first batch of pipes that our customer needed urgently to the shipping ship. Many thanks to our warehouse partners for their full commitment! Thank you X for your support of SMLSCO!
