ASTM A351 CF8M 316 Stainless Steel Cap Class 150 Threaded BSPT
Casting Cap is a type of pipe fitting with internal threads, used to screw onto the external threads at the end of a pipe or pipe joint to achieve sealing of the pipeline. It provides a safe, reliable, and detachable sealing solution for pipeline terminals. Compared to permanent welded heads, threaded pipe caps allow for greater flexibility in reopening pipelines for maintenance or expansion when needed in the future. Our pipe caps come in various shapes such as hexagonal and circular.
This pipe cap is connected using BSPT (British Standard Pipe Cone Thread). As a cone thread with a tooth profile angle of 55°, it mainly relies on the interference fit of the thread itself to form a seal during tightening, and is a very effective sealing form in applications such as pipeline sealing. BSPT is a universal thread standard in many regions of Europe and the world, providing a highly compatible and reliable thread solution for various general industrial and plumbing projects.
The use of CF8M/316 stainless steel material provides excellent corrosion resistance protection for the pipeline system. Compared to ordinary 304 material, 316 can more effectively resist the corrosion of chlorides and various industrial chemical media due to the addition of molybdenum element. For low-pressure systems with more complex operating environments or higher requirements for service life, choosing 316 material fittings means choosing lower long-term maintenance costs and higher operational safety.
SMLSCO cast pipe fittings are produced using precision casting (silica sol) technology to achieve excellent dimensional accuracy and surface smoothness. The process first involves making wax molds, wrapping multiple layers of refractory materials on the surface of the wax mold to form a ceramic shell, and then heating the wax mold to melt and flow out. Next, pour the melted stainless steel into the hollow shell. After the molten steel cools and solidifies, the shell can be crushed to obtain high-precision pipe blanks, which are then processed through machining, tapping, and other processes to become the final product.
